Creamy Cajun Chicken Or Shrimp Pasta

title: Cajun Seasoning

  • 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 3/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Ingredients

  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into thin strips or 1 lb shrimp

  • 16 ounces linguine, cooked al dente

  • 3 teaspoons cajun seasoning

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 1 thinly sliced green onions

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon dried basil

  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1.5 oz freshly grated parmesan cheese

Directions

  • Place chicken and Cajun seasoning in a bowl and toss to coat.

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté chicken in butter or margarine until chicken is tender, about 5 to 7 minutes.

  • Reduce heat add green onion, heavy cream, basil, salt, garlic powder, and heat through. Add some pasta water if needed to thicken.

  • Pour over hot linguine and toss with Parmesan cheese.
