Cranberry Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 2/3 cup water

  • 1/3 cup amaretto liqueur

  • 1 package (12 ounce size) fresh or frozen cranberries

  • 1 orange, juiced

  • 1 tablespoon orange zest

Directions

  • Bring sugar, water, and Amaretto to a boil in a heavy-bottomed saucepan.

  • Add cranberries, stir, and return to a boil.

  • Reduce heat and boil gently, stirring occasionally, for about 8 to 10 minutes or until cranberries pop.

  • Remove from heat, add orange juice and zest, and cool.
